Derby Street Pharmacy is committed to making our website accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We believe everyone should be able to access information about our pharmacy services, book appointments, and contact us without barriers.

This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These internationally recognised guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities.

2. What We Do

We have taken the following measures to ensure accessibility:

  • Maintain colour contrast ratios of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text throughout the site
  • Provide descriptive text alternatives for all meaningful images and icons
  • Support full keyboard navigation for all interactive elements, including menus, forms, and accordions
  • Use semantic HTML headings, landmarks, and ARIA attributes to support screen readers
  • Provide a skip-to-content link that allows keyboard users to bypass repeated navigation
  • Ensure forms include clear labels and error messages
  • Design the website to be responsive and usable on screens of all sizes
  • Ensure the website is usable when zoomed up to 200%

3. Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas may have limitations:

  • Some embedded third-party content (such as the Google Maps widget on our Contact page) may not be fully accessible. We provide the address as text as an alternative.
  • Older PDF documents may not be fully accessible. Please contact us if you need information from a PDF in an alternative format.
